Israel Adesanya addresses retirement talk after taking gloves off inside octagon post-UFC 305 loss

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has weighed in on his fighting future after UFC 305. 'The Last Stylebender' came up short on Aug. 18 and then proceeded to remove his gloves, causing some people to think that he might be parting ways with the sport.

Adesanya then spoke to Daniel Cormier for his post-fight octagon interview, where the 35-year-old was asked to share his future plans in regards to fighting. The Nigerian-born Kiwi responded by saying that he did not plan to retire anytime soon.

"I didn't think this far. I didn't manifest this. But look, I know you guys love me. This is where I started my career in the UFC. This is where I made my dream, right here in Perth. But look, I'm 35 [years old], I'm doing the right things and I know all you motherf**kers wanna see me lose, wanna see me down, but watch this - I'm not f**king leaving. I'm not f**king leaving!"

Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis went toe-to-toe for the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 305 at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

In the fourth round of the highly entertaining fight, du Plessis got a hold of Adesanya's back and proceeded to submit him with a rear-naked choke, retaining his middleweight title.

With the victory, 'Stillknocks' became the first fighter to score a submission win against 'The Last Stylebender'.

Adesanya has now suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his professional MMA career. 'The Last Stylebender' has come up short in three out of his last four outings, with two of those losses being finishes.

However, it should be noted that Adesanya gave a good account of himself against du Plessis and had the champion in trouble on multiple occasions.
