Israel Adesanya claps back at critics labelling him "gay" over his choices

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has hit back at his critics, after sharing videos on his social media that poked fun at their comments. Whilst Adesanya is considered by many to be one of the greatest fighters to have ever stepped into the octagon, it hasn't come without it's drawbacks.

'The Last Stylebender' has regularly faced hate comments from a small minority of fans who have often labeled him "gay." The Nigerian New Zealander has typically brushed off or ignored his haters throughout his career, however, he has since hit back at his critics on his Instagram with two videos.

In the first video, Adesanya is reading out a comment from a fan pleading with him not to get manicures anymore:

"Please, no more French manicures. I plead with you. It's too cringey. Crying face emoji."

Hilariously, the camera then zooms back to show that's exactly what Israel Adesanya is doing:

The second video on Adesanya's story is a clip taken from an episode on the Come and Talk 2 Me YouTube channel. During the clip, one of the hosts, Mr. Cam'ron, goes on a comedic rant after accusations about his sexuality. He said:

"If people say you gay, whatever! I don't think you need to make an announcement. Throughout my career people have said 'You're gay' or 'He's gay'. Bring your mother around and see what happens!"

Robert Whittaker weighs in on potential trilogy bout against Israel Adesanya

Robert Whittaker has played down the idea that a trilogy bout against Israel Adesanya is on the cards.

'The Reaper' lost the middleweight title to Adesanya back at UFC 243 and came up short again when they rematched at at UFC 271. The Australian has since found his form, however, and is potentially one win away from challenging for the title once more.

With Adesanya's future now up in the air, Whittaker was asked about facing 'The Last Stylebender' once again during a recent interview with mainevent. According to the 33-year-old, his focus is on the middleweight title. He also suggested that Adesanya should be focused on getting a win. He said:

"I don't know, Borralho maybe [next for Israel Adesanya]? I think people are talking about it. I don't know, Izzy needs to fight someone. Not me, I fought him twice already... I'm fighting Chimaev, and the winner of that is gonna fight for a title. The timelines just don't work."
