Israel Adesanya opens up about being "excited" for UFC return, downplays urge to regain title: "I'm coming for heads"
Israel Adesanya recently opened up about his upcoming UFC return and appears to be eager to compete again. The former middleweight champion noted that there is no urgency to immediately regain the title and isn't stressing himself out ahead of his return.
'The Last Stylebender' most recently competed last September at UFC 293, where he lost his middleweight championship to Sean Strickland via unanimous decision. Following the bout, Adesanya took a hiatus from the sport as he wanted to recover from injuries and have a mental reset.
Championship Rounds tweeted a clip from a video that was recently uploaded to 'Izzy's YouTube channel in which he discusses his octagon return. Adesanya mentioned that he is eager to make a statement rather than focusing on title aspirations. He said:
"I'm excited. It's been a year, almost a year like a little more by the time I get back in the octagon. People are always like, 'I hope you get the belt back'...I have belts. I don't need anymore belts. I'm coming for heads. That's what I want to do. Just a few that I have to touch...Everything comes at its own time, so right now it's just time for training...working, relaxing, healing, and then when it's time, time for killing."

Is Israel Adesanya headlining UFC 305?
It appears as though there is a strong possibility for Israel Adesanya to challenge Dricus du Plessis for the middleweight championship in the main event of UFC 305.
'Izzy' is likely to be the first challenger for du Plessis as former champion Sean Strickland recently fought Paulo Costa. Adesanya seemingly confirmed that he will be fighting at UFC 305 in the description of the aforementioned interview from his channel.
