Israel Adesanya recreates iconic 50 Cent music album cover ahead of historic title defense
Israel Adesanya sure knows how to keep his name relevant in pop culture. He recently posted an image of himself recreating hip-hop star 50 Cent's iconic music album cover ahead of his highly-anticipated fight against kickboxing rival Alex Pereira.
For 'The Last Stylebender', flamboyance and aplomb come naturally, as he has proved on multiple occasions in the past. Adesanya's penchant for performing under the bright lights and delivering a complete entertainment package is highly revered in the MMA community.
With just under a month away from what many deem to be the biggest challenge in his illustrious mixed martial arts career, Adesanya has amped up the promotions for the fight.
He recently posted an image on Instagram recreating 50 Cent's iconic 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' album cover. The album holds the distinction of being the best-selling album of 2003, selling 12 million copies worldwide.
Adesanya captioned the post:
"Coming to a theatre near you November 12. #ufc281."
The popcorn and cine-camera emojis represent the fact that fans are in for a treat come November. Alex Pereira holds two victories over Israel Adesanya in the kickboxing circuit. The Brazilian is the only fighter who has knocked out the Nigerian-born New Zealander in his multi-sport career.
Israel Adesanya drops 'official trailer' for upcoming fight against Alex Pereira
It is clear by now that UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya wants to seek retribution for his two losses to Alex Pereira in kickboxing.
'The Last Stylebender' has stated on multiple occasions that he's not the one to hold on to losses in the past. However, of late, he has posted a bunch of promotional content to hype the event - some cryptic, some making his intentions quite clear. This includes references from the popular anime series Death Note and the Christian doctrine of the Trinity citations.
He also posted a video on his YouTube page with top-notch production value and compelling storytelling to capture the essence of the narrative of the fight. The description read:
"UFC Champion Israel 'The Last Stylebender' Adesanya defends his Middleweight Title for the 7th time at UFC 281 against Alex 'Poatan' Pereira, Live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday November 12."
