Israel Adesanya reflects on post-fight words to Dricus du Plessis after UFC 305: "I’ll try and kill you"
Israel Adesanya recently reflected on his post-fight exchange with Dricus du Plessis following their bout at UFC 305. There was plenty of animosity prior to the fight and they were involved in a very tense staredown, however, they now appear to be on good terms.
'Stillknocks' earned an impressive fourth-round submission win to make his first successful middleweight title defense. Following the bout, du Plessis and Adesanya embraced to squash their beef, heaping praises on each other during their post-fight interviews.
During his latest appearance on FLAGRANT, the former middleweight champion reflected on the post-fight embrace and disclosed what they said to each other. Adesanya mentioned that du Plessis expressed interest in training with him in South Africa and noted that they both promised to put in the full effort:
"Yeah, [du Plessis and I] are cool. After the fight, we had a nice discussion, it was cool... It was private... was just cool like, a moment and at the end, he just said, 'If you're ever in South Africa, you know, tap in'. I was like, 'Yeah, sure'. I said, 'When we see you again, I'll try and kill you'. He goes, 'I'll try and kill you too', and we just hugged." [3:09]

Israel Adesanya questions whether he will change his motives for future fights
In addition to reflecting on his post-fight interaction with Dricus du Plessis and squashing their beef, Israel Adesanya questioned whether he would change his motives for future fights.
During the aforementioned appearance, Adesanya mentioned that he fights best when he has animosity with his opponents, but noted that perhaps he has reached a point in his career where he should change his approach:
"It's not the whole fuel... But the one's that don't believe in me and say all this sh*t, I'm like, 'I'm going to fu**ing show you', because I like that [animosity] but I don't know how long that's gonna last for. So again, finding new spots to fight from and yeah, we'll see, even train for. I'm going to try it out." [35:27]
