Israel Adesanya's savage reply to Paulo Costa with X-rated dig on his UFC 287 pull out

Israel Adesanya has sought to remind Paulo Costa of the domination he endured against 'The Last Stylebender' when they fought in 2020, following Costa's recent jibe.

'Borrachinha' took to Twitter to declare that Adesanya had withdrawn from his bout against Alex Pereira at UFC 287 next weekend due to an 'injury'.

The former champion responded to the Brazilian's taunts with a savage quip of his own:

"Lol, my cli* would be bigger than your d**k. You remember..."

Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa faced off at UFC 253, where 'The Last Stylebender' put on a masterclass. Costa was thoroughly dominated by Adesanya before being dropped by a left hook in the second round and finished on the ground.

Adesanya's in-cage celebration went viral, and it seems he wanted to remind 'Borrachinha' of the moment during their recent exchange.

Watch the fight-ending sequence below:

'The Last Stylebender' will face the man who handed him his first defeat at 185 pounds next weekend in the main event of UFC 287. Adesanya will face Alex Pereira in Miami and look to reclaim the belt that he held for over three years.

Israel Adesanya and 'Poatan' have faced off three times in total, twice in kickboxing and once in MMA. Pereira defeated Adesanya in all three bouts, twice via stoppage. However, all three fights have been incredibly competitive, and their fourth meeting is arguably their most anticipated bout so far.

Israel Adesanya says he will be "hunting" ahead of his clash at UFC 287

Israel Adesanya is one of the greatest middleweight champions in UFC history. He will have a chance to kickstart a second championship reign with a victory over Alex Pereira at UFC 287 next weekend in their much-anticipated title rematch.

'The Last Stylebender' recently described his mindset ahead of next weekend as going from the hunted to the hunter. Adesanya claimed the undisputed middleweight title in 2019 and had a target on his back for over three years.

'The Last Stylebender' previewed his upcoming bout during a recent YouTube video and said:

"I'm hunting, and I mean that. In every sense of the word. The mindset is different, definitely. I mean even Eugene [Bareman] and I are on the same page... It's kind of poetic in a way, this is my... like I said, 'One life, roll the dice.' So it's my last shot."
