Israel Adesanya is getting ready to get back into the octagon

Following his defeat to reigning UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305, Israel Adesanya has been on the sidelines. 'Stillknocks' defeated Adesanya via rear-naked choke in the fourth round of a closely contested bout to defend his 185-pound strap.

The good news for fans, though, is that 'The Last Stylebender' has begun training. His admirers were informed of the news in a recent video on his YouTube channel, in which he was seen back in the gym.

Strength and conditioning coach Bill Smart of High Performance Sport, who was also featured in the aforementioned video, talked about Adesanya's ongoing training and said:

"We did Izzy's testing last week. We got a pretty good gauge of where he's at currently in space and time. We're weighing up what does he need as an athlete based on his physical profile, what does he need based on the estimated 'timeframe' for a fight."
