"Israel isn't bad" - Sean Strickland takes bold stance on U.S. involvement in Gaza Strip war
Easily one of the most controversial fighters on the UFC roster, Sean Strickland never shies away from speaking his mind. Be it for his slur-filled rants on social media or his divisive opinions on ongoing global and societal conflicts, 'Tarzan' almost always finds the spotlight.
In one of his recent social media posts, the former middleweight champion criticized American involvement in the ongoing Israel-Gaza war, writing:
"You all need to understand Israel isn't bad. They act in the best interest of Israel. We would all do the same if we switched places. Our government is the bad guy for not acting in the best interest of its people. Be mad at them not Israel."
'Tarzan's' comments, however, struck a nerve with some netizens, who quickly took to the comments section to justify America's involvement in the conflict. The UFC star, however, was not convinced by the justifications and proceeded to call them out for their stance on the matter, enquiring:
"Yall ready to fight a war for Israel? !?! Lol."
Apart from his polarizing and outspoken nature, 'Tarzan' has also amassed a ton of popularity with success inside the octagon. He notably defeated Israel Adesanya to win the 185-pound belt last year.
Since losing his championship title in a controversial loss to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297, the 33-year-old bounced back with a split decision win over Paulo Costa in June.
Currently ranked No.1 at middleweight, he could fight the winner of the upcoming title clash between du Plessis and Adesanya.
When Sean Strickland accused Belal Muhammad of "propagating war"
Sean Strickland is convinced Belal Muhammad is contributing to the negativity and hatred online with his overwhelming expressions of support for Palestine in the ongoing war.
Strickland believes Palestine would fare better if they disavowed Hamas and brokered a peace deal with Israel. During episode #143 of the JRE MMA Show, 'Tarzan' said:
"You have somebody like Belal Muhammad who's f*****g born and lives in Miami. Probably f*****g you know barely ever goes to Palestine, [but says] yeah f**k yeah, f**k you Israel, propagating war instead of bringing the olive branch [to Israel] and saying hey this sucks, how do we make it suck less? You are a coward bro. You're sitting here in America and you say divisive s**t, from your couch on your Twitter thumbs."
