“It would be absolutely amazing” - Freddie on possibly fighting alongside brother Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver

Freddie Haggerty hopes to share a fight card with his brother, Jonathan Haggerty, at ONE 168: Denver.

On Sept. 6, ONE Championship will make their highly-anticipated return to North America when they travel to Denver, Colorado. In the main event, ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty is scheduled to defend his throne against ONE flyweight kickboxing king Superlek.

The ONE 168: Denver fight card is mostly filled up, with many intriguing matchups and superstars fighting before Haggerty vs Superlek. Meanwhile, Haggerty's young brother, Freddie, had this to say during an interview with the South China Morning Post about wanting to be added to the event:

"I'm ready. I'm eager to go again if I'm being honest. Like I said in the ring, Denver would be amazing, not sure if it would be possible, but it would be absolutely amazing. Fighting alongside my brother, amazing."

ONE 168 goes down inside the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Tickets for the must-see event headlined by Jonathan Haggerty's world title defense against Superlek can be found on Ticketmaster.

Should ONE Championship add Jonathan Haggerty's brother, Freddie, to ONE 168: Denver?

ONE 168: Denver will showcase many of the biggest superstars in ONE Championship. As a result, the Sept. 6 event is expected to receive added attention from the combat sports community, which ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong plans to capitalize on by showcasing the next generation.

The upcoming spectacle will feature 17-year-old Johan Ghazali, 21-year-old Johan Estupinan, and 18-year-old Adrian Lee. There's no doubt that the 19-year-old Freddie Haggerty would benefit from joining the previously mentioned youngsters.

Jonathan Haggerty's younger brother made his ONE Championship debut in January, defeating Dankalong Sor Dechapan by second-round knockout. Six months later, Freddie returned and knocked out Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang in round one.

ONE 168 already features twelve bouts, including two world title fights, so it's unclear if Freddie will be added. Only time will tell if the 19-year-old receives the opportunity to win over the North American crowd inside the Ball Arena.
