"It gave me so many opportunities" - Angela Lee says MMA opened a lot of doors for her outside of fighting

Mixed martial arts not only gave Angela Lee a lasting legacy but also became a massive blessing in her personal life. After all, it was through the sport that 'Unstoppable' met the love of her life, Bruno Pucci, with whom she shares an adorable bundle of joy, Ava Marie Pucci.

The former ONE atomweight MMA queen shared in a recent appearance with fellow ONE royalty Demetrious Johnson on the MightyCast:

"After fighting, I was able to find passion in connecting with people, sharing their stories, and just listening. Man, it's really crazy. I look at it and see where I'm at now and seeing just a few years ago where I should be. I mean, I love fighting. It's amazing. It gave me so many opportunities. It gave me my husband."

While Angela Lee hung up her gloves for good in an emotional send-off last year, she certainly has no regrets about leaving it all behind.

The Singaporean-American will be remembered as one of the best female MMA athletes of her generation.

Now, the 28-year-old is making another mark in her battle outside the circle, empowering fighters to embrace mental health through her non-profit, Fightstory.

"In giving back, I'm also healing myself and helping myself. When you have a heart for others, when you have a heart for the community, life is not just about you going through it alone. It's a journey and you're meant to connect with people, and like for me, I'm lucky now."
