“It gives me a lot of power” - Jarred Brooks draws strength from daughter heading into interim title fight

Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked divisional contender 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks of the United States is a new father, and it has become one of his life's greatest motivations.

The 31-year-old Mash Fight Team representative says he draws immeasurable strength from his baby daughter Naomi now, heading into his fights, that he feels absolutely invincible fighting for something greater than himself.

In a recent interview with South China Morning Post, Brooks talked about how it feels to be a dad and how that has changed his career.

'The Monkey God' said:

"It's a new kind of motivation, and it's a new inspiration too. Seeing her every day, getting to wake her up, feed her, and coming home after a hard training session, it's the best thing, man, and it only motivates me, and it only gives me momentum and just a lot of love that I have felt that I haven't felt from anybody in the world. So feeling that, it gives me a lot of power going into this fight."

'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks is set to lock horns with Cuban Olympian 'El Gladiador' Gustavo Balart for the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title.

The two top strawweights throw down in the main event at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart on Prime Video.

The event broadcasts live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, August 2.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video.
