“It all goes to them” - MMA wunderkind Adrian Lee thankful for dad and brother’s guidance after stellar debut at ONE 167
18-year-old MMA sensation Adrian Lee aced his professional mixed martial arts assignment this past Friday, June 7, at ONE 167.
Emanating from the sold-out Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, Lee stepped inside the Circle for the first time for a clash with Australian standout Antonio Mammarella.
Representing the legendary Lee family —producing ONE world champions like Christian and Angela — Adrian Lee had some pretty big shoes to fill in his ONE debut.
Needless to say, he passed the test with flying colors, submitting Mammarella in the second round with a slick rear-naked choke.
During his post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson, Lee credited his brother, current two-division MMA titleholder Christian, and his father, Ken, with helping guide him on his MMA journey.
“It’s great. I couldn’t have done this without my brother and my dad," he said inside the Circle. "It all goes to them.”
With his first big win under his belt, what's next for the budding superstar?
Adrian Lee says ONE 167 was "just the beginning"
Taking to Instagram following his victory in The Land of Smiles, Adrian Lee echoed a similar sentiment, thanking his coaches and his family for their support going into his promotional premiere.
"1-0. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and family," he wrote. "I couldn't be here without them! This is just the beginning."
Congratulating his little brother on an absolutely stellar debut, reigning ONE lightweight and welterweight world champion Christian Lee offered congratulations on his own Instagram account, writing:
"So incredibly proud of my bro! #THEPHENOM gets it done Rd. 2 via Rear Naked Choke!"
