“It was a great performance” - Nabil Anane reveals fifth successive win at ONE Friday Fights 81 went as planned
Nabil Anane was very happy with his performance at ONE Friday Fights 81. Sitting on four straight wins, the 6-foot-4 phenom returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand over the weekend for a clash with Lethwei legend Soe Lin Oo.
Throughout the three-round affair, Soe struggled to get his offense going against his much taller opponent. By the time the final bell rang, it was clear that Anane would walk away with a fifth victory under the ONE Championship banner thanks to his masterful use of ranged attacks.
Looking back on the victory during his post-fight interview, Nabil Anane was very happy with his performance and his ability to execute their game plan to perfection.
"It was great. I did what we were training for," Anane said. "In training, we made a good plan, and it worked on the ring. So yeah, It was a great performance for me too. I'm happy with my performance too."
Is Nabil Anane ready for a rematch with Superlek?
Since coming up short against two-sport king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 in his promotional debut last year, Nabil Anane has turned in impressive performances against Nakrob Fairtex, Muangthai, Kulabdam, Felipe Lobo, and the aforementioned Soe Lin Oo — each one more impressive than the last.
Already sitting as the fourth-ranked contender in the loaded ONE bantamweight Muay Thai division, some believe that the Algerian-Thai standout has more than earned a shot at the weight class' top prize.
Of course, the bantamweight Muay Thai world title is currently held by Superlek following his first-round KO of Jonathan Haggerty last month at ONE 168: Denver.
With five dominant wins in a row, it is time for Anane to get another crack at 'The Kicking Machine'?
