"It was great to witness it" - Jonathan Haggerty admits being "starstruck" by Bill Goldberg's presence at ONE 168

Things didn't go the way that Jonathan Haggerty hoped they would during his recent outing at ONE 168 last month. The Brit was looking to headline one of the biggest events of the year by defending his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship in the main event.

He didn't get to leave the Ball Arena in Denver with the world title, however, after being stopped by Superlek Kiatmoo9. It was still a memorable night nonetheless.

Haggerty is looking to move past this setback after taking some time to reflect, but that doesn't mean that Sept. 6 was all bad. One of the personal highlights for 'The General' was crossing paths with a childhood hero of his who was there to support his former rival, Liam Harrison.

Ex-WWE and WCW superstar Bill Goldberg was in attendance and walked side by side with 'The Hitman' for his final ring walk under the ONE Championship banner.

Haggerty spoke about this moment during his recent appearance on the Sky Sports MMA Club Podcast:

"Yeah, I was, to be fair. It was amazing. In the back room, he just turned up, he was all blacked out and I thought Liam done a good job there. I was thinking to myself, in my next fight I'm gonna figure out who to bring out. So he's done a great job, Liam. Starstruck, yeah, it was great to witness it."

Jonathan Haggerty was able to take some positives from ONE 168

Alongside the opportunity to be in the same building as Bill Goldberg, Jonathan Haggerty took some other key notes away from ONE 168.

He knows where he went wrong against Superlek and that's only going to make him stronger going forward, especially because he has the right support around him.

Haggerty will be back stronger as he has proven in the past when returning from difficult moments and setbacks.
