"It might come down to these little things" - Liam Harrison says Denver's unforgiving altitude could haunt Superlek at ONE 168
Liam Harrison knows a thing or two about getting prepared for Denver's cruel altitude – and he's certain that it'll play a major role in the headline attraction between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Heading into ONE 168: Denver inside Ball Arena, approximately 5,280 feet above sea level, Liam Harrison has been using an altitude chamber to familiarize himself with the harsh conditions for his 140-pound catchweight fixture against Seksan Or Kwanmuang.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Haggerty, who defends his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title, has taken similar precautions as he headed to the Centennial State almost a month ahead of fight night to combat any woes that could arise due to the lower atmospheric pressure and thin air.
Superlek, though, only arrived this past Monday, which is a source of concern per Liam Harrison.
Taking to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) last week, 'Hitman' explained why Superlek should not sleep on Denver's unforgiving altitude:
"If it was a three-round fight, you can get away with it [not preparing enough for the Denver altitude]. But this is 15 minutes of hard fighting, hard action, and two tough guys who are in their prime. So it might come down to these little things."

Liam Harrison taking things 'step by step' heading into ONE 168: Denver
With a lot of factors at play, including his lengthy layoff, Liam Harrison refuses to look too far into his future as he gears up for his all-legend matchup with Seksan at ONE 168: Denver on September 6.
Instead, the 39-year-old says the best approach for him at this stage of his career is to take things one step at a time.
In the same interview, the Bad Company star and multi-time Muay Thai world champion added:
"I'm not putting any pressure on myself. Step by step. One fight at a time. I don't want to start like, right, I'm gonna win this, and then I'm gonna do that, and then I'm gonna do that. I don't want to put any pressure on myself."
North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire ONE 168: Denver card live and free in U.S. primetime this Friday, September 6. Meanwhile, tickets to experience the spectacle live in person can be purchased here.
