“It's just like my dream come true” - Superlek elated for the opportunity to fight in the U.S. at ONE 168
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is thankful for the opportunity to showcase his skills in the United States next week. He said it is a realization of a longtime dream to compete and represent Thailand in front of American fans.
'The Kicking Machine' will try to become a double ONE world champion by challenging bantamweight Muay Thai king Jonathan Haggerty for his championship belt in the headlining contest at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, on Sept. 6.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Buriram native Superlek touched on the significance of his upcoming match in the U.S. apart from it being a world title super fight.
He said:
"I'm actually very happy. I'm very grateful for this opportunity because I've been to Denver a few times. I've been there for a seminar. I've been there for training and been there to watch other people fight. I had this thought that one day I really want to come back to Denver and fight and show Muay Thai skills to American fans. And now it's just like my dream come true."

At ONE 168, Superlek will be climbing a weight division higher to take on Haggerty. It is not something new for the Thai superstar as he has competed in weight classes higher than his traditional lane of flyweight before.
He is also banking on an impressive winning run, which has seen him victorious in his last 10 matches over opponents with various skill sets.
ONE 168 will take place at the Ball Arena in Denver and air live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on Ticketmaster.
Superlek touts an explosive clash against Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168
Superlek Kiatmoo9 said that fight fans should expect an explosive showdown when he and Jonathan Haggerty collide in a world title superfight at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6.
The 28-year-old Thai superstar put this to the fore in an interview with ONE Championship, emphasizing that being skilled and proud fighters, he and Haggerty will bring it all come fight night, just as he vowed to go for a knockout.
'The Kicking Machine' said:
"Fans may know us technical fighters, but they can expect an explosive fight on September 6. I'm looking for a knockout."
Superlek, the reigning flyweight kickboxing king, will try to dethrone Haggerty as the ONE bantamweight world champion at ONE 168: Denver to realize his goal of becoming a two-sport champion.
