"It's move after move" - Lito Adiwang breaks down Jarred Brooks' similarities with MMA great Demetrious Johnson

ONE strawweight MMA contender Lito Adiwang believes Jarred Brooks' skillset is eerily similar to the recently-retired Demetrious Johnson.

Just like 'Mighty Mouse', Brooks also comes from a strong wrestling background. The comparisons between the two pocket-rocket American warriors, though, don't end there.

'The Monkey God', whose been open about his admiration for 'DJ', also strived to develop a complete MMA arsenal by honing his jiu-jitsu and striking skills.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Adiwang shared why the interim strawweight MMA champ could continue upholding the legend's legacy in the world's largest martial arts organization:

"He [Jarred Brooks] has a bit of Demetrious Johnson in him, where it’s move after move after move until he gets the finish."

'Thunder Kid' continued:

"So he has to dictate the pace if he wants to win, you should put pressure on him and make it so he will be the one trying to figure out what you’re going to do because he has that mindset of constantly being on the attack and always looking at what he wants to do to you."

Adiwang is no stranger to Brooks' relentless tenacity, succumbing to an arm-triangle choke when they shared the Circle in 2021.

Lito Adiwang says Jarred Brooks constantly evolves

Another endearing quality that separates Jarred Brooks from the pack is that he never rests on his laurels.

The 31-year-old versatile athlete appears to display a new facet in his ever-evolving repertoire each time he returns to the home of martial arts.

"Jarred gets sharper every time he steps inside the Circle," Adiwang told Sportskeeda MMA.

He added:

"You can really see his improvements. Number one is his cardio, where he can really carry his pressure and power well into the championship rounds."

While Brooks never got the opportunity to fight Demetrious Johnson, he could still have a shot at emulating his idol's iconic career.
