“It’s time for a new king” – KO artist Denis Puric vows to put an end to Rodtang’s reign of terror

As far as Denis Puric is concerned, there will be a new king in town, come Friday, June 7.

After scoring a sensational decision victory over Jacob Smith at ONE Fight Night 21 in April, 'The Bosnian Menace' will make a quick turnaround for the opportunity to square off with one of the most feared fighters on the planet, Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

The two will step inside the Circle at ONE 167 for a flyweight kickboxing clash that could very well set the stage for a showdown in the art of eight limbs down the lines.

Speaking with ONE Championship ahead of their highly anticipated clash in eight-ounce gloves, Puric shared his excitement over the opportunity, declaring that in a few short weeks, there would be a new king sitting on the throne.

"It’s gonna be amazing," Puric said. "It’s gonna be wonderful. It’s time for a new king.”

Denis Puric will be gunning for his third-straight win under the ONE Championship banner after bagging back-to-back W's against Vietnamese standout Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat and the aforementioned Jacob Smith.

Denis Puric is in for the biggest fight of his career vs Rodtang

Standing in Puric's way of the biggest victory of his career is Rodtang, a force inside the Circle if there ever was one. Making his first appearance of 2024, 'The Iron Man' is coming off a sensational showing against Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the Muay Thai Fight of the Year at ONE Friday Fights 34 last year.

Overall, Rodtang is 14-2 in ONE, his only losses coming against 'The Kicking Machine' and pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson in a history special rules bout at the promotion's 10th-anniversary showcase ONE X.

With a win over Puric, not only will Rodtang climb back into the win column, but he'll also bag his third career win in kickboxing in ONE — proving once again that he is a formidable foe in multiple sports.

ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE 167 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, June 7.
