“It’s time to see who’s the greatest” - Jonathan Haggerty ready to prove himself against Superlek once and for all
Jonathan Haggerty believes his clash with Superlek Kiatmoo9 will determine who the greatest truly is.
On Friday night, 'The General' will put his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line when he meets Superlek in 'The Mile High City' for one of the biggest main events in recent memory.
Though a weight class typically separates the two, with Haggerty dominating the bantamweight division while Superlek reigns as the ONE flyweight kickboxing king, it feels like Haggerty and 'The Kicking Machine' have been on a collision course for years.
At ONE 168: Denver on September 6, they'll finally collide on martial arts' biggest stage, where more than 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold will be at stake:
"He's the same age as me, he's young, he's exciting — well I hope he's hungry," Haggerty said of Superlek during a recent interview with InsideFighting. "But yeah, that's it, mate. We're on the path to greatness, and now it's time to see who's the greatest."

Something's gotta give when Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek collide at ONE 168: Denver
Though it won't be the first time that Haggerty and Superlek square off in their respective careers, ONE 168: Denver will host their first-ever meeting under the ONE banner — not to mention a lot has changed since their inaugural clash six years ago.
Today, Haggerty and Superlek are two of the most dangerous strikers on the planet.
One only needs to look at their resume for confirmation. Since making the move to bantamweight, 'The General' has looked virtually unbeatable with highlight-reel knockouts against Thai legend Nong-O Hama, reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade, and 'Demolition Man' Felipe Lobo.
On the flip side, 'The Kicking Machine' was able to do what Haggerty failed twice to accomplish — defeat Rodtang Jitmuangnon. Superlek landed a unanimous decision win over 'The Iron Man' at ONE Friday Fights 34 last year.
Since then, Superlek has added wins over Japanese kickboxing legend Takeru Segawa and Thai prospect Kongthoranee Sor Sommai. Clearly, something's got to give when two of the best strikers on the planet square off in 'The Centennial State'.
Who leaves as a two-sport ONE world champion and their name atop the P4P rankings?
