“It suits me better” - Jacob Smith doesn’t mind heading into Rodtang’s territory after ONE 169 venue change
Flyweight striker Jacob Smith of the United Kingdom says he is more than happy to fight 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon of Thailand in front of his hometown crowd.
The 32-year-old Englishman says fighting in Bangkok is even better than in the United States.
ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video was originally scheduled for the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. However, ONE Championship dropped a bombshell last week, moving the event to Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Stadium instead.
Speaking to Combat Sports Today in a recent interview, Smith said he doesn't mind, and that there's really no difference in the venue getting changed. He is ready to put on a show.
The Bad Company / Thaifist product said:
"Nothing. To be honest with you, Thailand's better for me anyway, it suits me better. The hotel is better, and the venue, Lumpinee Stadium, it's the home of Muay Thai. I would rather it be in Thailand if I'm being brutally honest with you. It suits me."
Needless to say, Smith is ready to seize the moment and finally, once and for all, defeat Rodtang to become a ONE world champion.
Fans need not wait long to see these two throw down.
