“It will be my honor” - Double champ Prajanchai congratulates Aliff for securing world title shot against him
Two-sport ONE world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai acknowledged Aliff Sor Dechapan as a worthy challenger.
The reigning strawweight Muay Thai and kickboxing kingpin was in attendance at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium last June 6 to witness Aliff dismantle Elmehdi El Jamari for three rounds to extend his active winning streak to four at ONE Fight Night 32.
The Sor Dechapan Gym standout got the unanimous decision nod after subjecting 'The Sniper' to a brutal kicking clinic.
During Aliff's in-ring interview with Mitch Chilson, Prajanchai was invited to the ring, and the pair figured in an intense yet respectful staredown.
The double champ had this to say about the impressive Malaysian-American contender:
"First of all, I want to say congratulations to Aliff, and I’m sending support to El Jamari. If one day this match does happen, it will be my honor."
While nothing is set in stone yet, it appears Aliff will indeed be next in line for a strawweight Muay Thai world title shot against the mighty Prajanchai.
The sensational 21-year-old dismantled Zakaria El Jamari last year to begin his hot streak and has now added a second El Jamari brother to his list of victims.
How did Aliff emerge victorious at ONE Fight Night 32?
Aliff displayed total control of his match-up against the hard-hitting Elmehdi El Jamari, displaying the importance of distance management.
The 21-year-old striking savant found his rhythm and range early, blasting the Moroccan with punishing body kicks and sharp jabs, and straights at a distance where he couldn't hit back.
When El Jamari pushed forward and got in position to throw his heavy bombs, Aliff masterfully kept his guard up and used terrific footwork to return to his preferred range.
