Jackie Buntan does not expect Demetrious Johnson-Adriano Moraes trilogy fight to go the distance
Jackie Buntan expects a knockout in the ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video main event.
On May 5, ONE Championship will take a trip to the sold-out 1stBank Center in Colorado for their first event on U.S. soil. In the main event, Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes meet for the third time with the ONE flyweight world championship on the line.
During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Buntan was asked about the highly-anticipated matchup between Johnson and Moraes. The ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai fighter had this to say:
“Honestly I think so, being just the way that those fights have been happening, their first fight ending the way it did, the second fight ending the way it did. I would not be surprised if the third fight was cut short due to a knockout.”
Johnson and Moraes first fought in April 2021, with the latter securing a shocking second-round knockout to retain the flyweight throne. After both fighters took out a different opponent, they met for the rematch at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022. ‘Mighty Mouse’ would not be denied this time, leading to a picture-perfect fourth-round knockout. The series will now be settled at ONE Fight Night 10.

Jackie Buntan is grateful to be competing at ONE Fight Night 10 against Diandra Martin
Jackie Buntan will also compete at ONE’s North American debut event. The 25-year-old American has been matched up against Diandra Martin in a strawweight Muay Thai bout. During the same interview with Sportskeeda, Buntan had this to say about competing in North America for the first time in four years:
“I guess my initial thought was I was pretty surprised that they had me on the card, I think that quickly right away. I’m totally [excited] to be on such a massive card, being ONE’s first U.S. show. So all around just pretty excited and grateful.”
Jackie Buntan and Diandra Martin are both coming off wins against Amber Kitchen. With a win on May 5, either fighter will be one step closer to earning a shot against the reigning ONE strawweight Muay Thai queen Smilla Sundell.
