Jackie Buntan happy to represent female martial artists in ONE Championship: “I’d love to see more women on the card”

Filipina-American striking star and former ONE world title challenger Jackie Buntan is championing women in the world's largest martial arts organization. The 27-year-old Boxing Works star says she is proud to represent women on the biggest global stage and wants to see even more females compete on big cards in the future.

Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Buntan shared her thoughts on women competing in ONE Championship.

She said:

"I’d love to see more women on the card and get more opportunities, more eyes on them and they’d be able to get up there on the ranks."

For this to happen, Buntan needs to inspire, and she's looking to do just that in her next fight. Jackie Buntan is set to trade strikes with Algerian-French kickboxing legend 'C18' Anissa Meksen.

They will fight for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video, which broadcasts live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Nov. 8.

Strawweight striking sensation Jackie Buntan wants to keep things short and sweet when she takes on the legendary 'C18' Anissa Meksen at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video.

As such, the 27-year-old is gunning for a quick and explosive finish when the two step into the ring.

She told Sportskeeda MMA:

"Yeah, I think being on such a huge platform like ONE Championship, knowing like yeah it’s a sport. To be honest it’s entertainment, it’s an entertainment industry so you have that in the back of your head as an athlete."
