Jackie Buntan says she won't back down from fighting legends like Anissa Meksen - "The only way you're going to get better"
Muay Thai savant Jackie Buntan says she's not afraid to challenge some of the best female legends in the world, like kickboxing superstar Anissa Meksen.
Buntan is completely zoned in this week as she heads towards an inaugural world title brawl with French-Algerian kickboxer Anissa Meksen at ONE 169: Malykhin vs Reug Reug on November 8.
With a strawweight kickboxing belt on the line, Buntan is sure to face a couple of challenges when she fights one of the most accomplished female kickboxers on the planet.
Anissa Meksen has over 100 wins to her name and is a multi-time world champion in many prestigious organizations across Europe and Asia. But her recent world title loss to Phetjeeja Lukjaporongtom for the interim atomweight kickboxing championship proved that she can be beaten.
Buntan, therefore sees this fight with Meksen as more than an opportunity to brawls against a legend, but also an opportunity to grow and come out on top.
Speaking to Beyond Kick, she said:
"You want to compete against the very best in the world and challenge yourself, test yourself, and that's the only way you're going to get better and solidify your name in the sport."
