Jacob Smith excited to fight megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon in hallowed Lumpinee Stadium: “Given the hype of this fight”
ONE Championship flyweight Muay Thai world title contender Jacob Smith of the United Kingdom believes he has the perfect backdrop set for a monumental upset win over Thai icon 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
Smith envisions himself stopping Thailand's most popular fighter inside the most prestigious arena in the country, the Lumpinee Stadium.
Speaking to Cageside Press in a recent interview, Smith talked about the magnitude of the opportunity he has before him.
The 32-year-old Bad Company / Thaifist representative said:
"Going into a title fight like this for the first time, everything being brand new to me. Given the hype of this fight, it’s just better for me that it’s in Thailand. Not just Thailand, but the Lumpinee Stadium."
Jacob Smith is set to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title.
The two will clash at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video, which broadcasts live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Nov. 8.

Jacob Smith picking calculated but aggressive approach in Rodtang rematch: "I won't be reckless"
The United Kingdom's Jacob Smith vows to bring the fight straight to 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon's grill at ONE 169 on Prime Video. But he won't throw caution to the wind like last time.
This time, Smith says a more tactical approach is necessary to achieve victory.
He told Combat Sports Today:
"If something arises where I can step on the gas and look for the finish, I'll be looking for the finish, 100%. But I won't be reckless doing it"
