Jacob Smith expects different outcome in Rodtang Jitmuangnon rematch: “It’s not gonna go the way the first fight went”
ONE Championship flyweight Muay Thai world title contender Jacob Smith of the United Kingdom is confident his rematch with Thai icon 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon will have a vastly different outcome compared to their first fight.
Smith first met Rodtang at ONE 157 in May 2022, where he was completely dominated across three rounds of action en route to a unanimous decision for the Thai icon.
Not only was he blown out badly, but the United Kingdom fighter also became a permanent fixture in Rodtang's highlight reel.
In their highly anticipated rematch this weekend, Smith told fans that they should expect a much better performance from his end.
Smith told South China Morning Post in a recent interview:
"I suppose I’m not really going to go into too much detail, but it’s not gonna go the way the first fight went, let me tell you that. I’ve improved tenfold since the first fight, so I’m ready to show that on the 8th of November."
Needless to say, Smith is looking to put together his best performance yet in ONE Championship, in hopes of taking out a legend and becoming a champion in the world's largest martial arts organization.
