Jacob Smith makes his case about being the rightful winner in match vs Denis Puric: “I was pouncing when it counted”

Third-ranked ONE Championship flyweight Muay Thai contender, Jacob Smith of the United Kingdom, believes his April 2024 victory over rival 'The Bosnian Menace' Denis Puric should have seen him as the victor instead of the other way around.

Smith and Puric went to war at ONE Fight Night 21 on Prime Video at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where he lost via a razor-thin unanimous decision.

Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, the United Kingdom star explained why he believes he should have won that fight.

The 32-year-old Bad Company / Thaifist representative said:

"I was pouncing when it counted. The second round was a bit arguably [his]. The first round was absolutely hilarious because he was hitting me in the armpit. And the whole of round three, he runs away. Runs away and turns his back, numerous times. When I put him on the floor, he was lying on the floor, gasping for air."

Shots fired? Only time will tell if these two strikers will meet again in the ring.

In the meantime, Smith is getting ready for arguably the biggest fight of his life against another former adversary.
