Jake Paul offering two-fight deal to Nate Diaz does not make sense, says Chael Sonnen
Chael Sonnen recently weighed in on Jake Paul offering Nate Diaz a two-fight deal that would include an MMA fight and a boxing match. The 25-year-old recently announced that he has signed a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and also owns equity in the organization.
Paul will be competing in the Super Fight division, which is exclusively for pay-per-views and will only feature well-established fighters who will draw large numbers. In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Jake Paul revealed he wants his first fight against current free-agent Nate Diaz.
However, Chael Sonnen has questioned the viability of this two-fight affair. 'The American Gangster' stated:
"These fights can only go one of two ways... Either Jake wins or Nate wins, so let's say they start with MMA and let's say Paul wins. Can you imagine that?... Let's just say Paul beats Diaz in MMA. Why are we going to boxing? Why would we need to go to the boxing? And that's where the problem comes and in large part it also works vice-versa..."

While there is no official confirmation of this fight materializing anytime soon, it is safe to assume that Jake Paul has the upper hand in boxing owing to his undefeated record. However, Nate Diaz's extensive resume in the octagon (22-13-0) would make him a very formidable opponent in an MMA fight.
Renato Moicano shares his opinion on two possible Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz bouts
Jake Paul recently signed a multi-fight deal with the PFL and is set to make his MMA debut in the newly minted "Super Fight" division of the promotion. It was revealed that fighters competing in this new division will earn 50% of the total PPV revenue.
In his announcement video posted on Instagram, Paul called out Nate Diaz for a unique two-fight affair. As per the YouTuber's offer, the pair would first face each other in the boxing ring, followed by an MMA bout in the PFL six months later.

While this announcement invited many differing opinions from the MMA community, UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano shared a surprising take on Paul's potential faceoff's with the Stockton Slugger. Acknowledging the unpopular nature of his opinion, he wrote:
"Unpopular opinion… it’s easier Jake Paul beat Diaz in a MMA match than Dias beat Jake in boxing!!!"

While 'The Problem Child' has managed to outbox MMA greats like Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley in the past, going up against Nate Diaz in the MMA octagon is no easy feat for even the most experienced fighters. However, it remains to be seen if this two-fight affair will materialize.
