Jake Paul's coach explains why 'The Problem Child' wants to fight Nate Diaz despite him not being as skilled as Anderson Silva
Jake Paul proved his mettle as a pugilist with a hard-earned victory over MMA legend Anderson Silva this past weekend. 'The Problem Child' extended his record to 6-0 as a boxer and called out former UFC superstar Nate Diaz to step into the squared circle to face him.
More recently, Paul claimed on Instagram that 'The Spider' is a much more challenging opponent than Diaz.
BJ Flores, Jake Paul's boxing trainer, claimed during a recent interview on The MMA Hour that while the paths of the two combatants are on a collision course, Nate Diaz is a stepdown in competition. However, he added that Diaz's ability to draw an audience through his undaunted fighting style makes for an exciting clash:
"I mean, I agree with Jake. I feel like Anderson's got way more skills than Nate. But I think there's just the toughness of Nate that people just love. There's the big fights that Nate has been in, all the massive mega-events that he has been a part of, his no care, no fear, [the fact that] he'll fight anybody...I think people like that and respect that."
He further added:
"I think the fight with Nate in California will do some big numbers. Again, I don't think Nate is as skilled as Anderson Silva. But I think Nate's such an entertaining fighter, there's never a bad Nate Diaz fight. So I would love it."

What did Nate Diaz tell UFC President Dana White about fighting Jake Paul?
Nate Diaz successfully fought out his UFC contract with a submission victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. His longstanding feud with the premier MMA organization over contract disputes and unfair treatment ended on a positive note when head honcho Dana White wished him the very best in his future endeavors.
Fight fans have long speculated that Diaz's decision to fight off his contract stems from his desire to face Jake Paul in the boxing ring. However, White had stated in a past interview with Yahoo Sports that the Stockton native told him that he wouldn't fight Paul:
“I don’t know. He said, ‘I would never do that.’ That’s what he said to me. He said, ‘That s***’s goofy.’ I don’t know. That’s what he said to me.”
