Jake Paul speculates on Jon Jones' secret reason for 'dodging' Tom Aspinall: "He knows exactly what he's doing"
Jake Paul recently gave his explanation as to why why Jon Jones could be "dodging" Tom Aspinall. In late 2023, Jones pulled out of his first UFC heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic due to a torn pectoral muscle.
'Bones,' who is continuing to recover, has staunchly maintained, alongside Dana White, that the matchup with Miocic should be rescheduled. Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, however, doesn't agree with that notion
Aspinall became the interim UFC heavyweight champion in November 2023. Since then, the Englishman has continuously called for a world title unification matchup against Jones.
Aspinall and many fans worldwide have accused Jones of avoiding a fight against the interim king. As for Jake Paul, he went on Twitter earlier today and had this to say about why 'Bones' might be waiting to take on Aspinall:
"Jon Jones doesn’t dodge anyone. He knows exactly what he’s doing. Show him the money - that real money. Not that spin the narrative money. Him versus Aspinal is massive as it hits two big ppv markets. $25M guarantee plus ppv seems about right. @JonnyBones"
Tom Aspinall is running out of options while waiting for Jon Jones to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. On July 27, Aspinall defended his interim strap, which is rarely done, with a 60-second knockout win over Curtis Blaydes. He now looks to fight Jones in his next Octagon appearance.
Jon Jones fires shots at Tom Aspinall in since-deleted message
Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones have exchanged direct and indirect insults on social media. Aspinall has, time and again, accused Jones of actively avoiding the fight with him. In response, 'Bones' said:
"This dude literally has my large black c*ck in his mouth every week. I'm flattered. I absolutely guarantee he will not win more world championships than me. That's truly all that matters at the end of the day. There's been many champions, no one like me. I sleep good at night."
Although it's unconfirmed, Jones vs Miocic is rumored to be heading UFC 309 on Nov. 9. Regardless of the result, Tom Aspinall is expected to fight the winner in a highly-anticipated heavyweight unification bout in early 2025.
