Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson purses and payouts: How much the boxers are reportedly making for the high-profile match

The high-profile Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight is fast approaching. Given their mammoth fan bases, the influencer and the boxing legend are both expected to secure lucrative paydays for their boxing match.

They were expected to clash in July but Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up in May. Their rescheduled heavyweight boxing bout transpires at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, U.S.A., on Nov. 15, 2024. It'll be the first boxing event to be streamed live on Netflix.

During a promotional press conference on Aug. 18, 2024, Paul hinted that he'd likely earn a $40 million payout for fighting Tyson. 'The Problem Child' said:

"I'm here to make 40 million dollars and knock out a legend. I don't give a f**k about anything else. And he's the one that wanted it to be a pro fight. So he's gonna get his a** knocked out real, real, for real on a real record. You're gonna see on BoxRec -- Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, Jake Paul KOs Mike Tyson. I'm not here to do sh** besides make a bag."

On the American talk show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' in September 2024, host Jimmy Kimmel alluded that Mike Tyson would likely bag $20 million for fighting Jake Paul. Speaking to Tyson, Kimmel said:

"And I also want to ask you about the money 'cause I know you're making a lot of money. I don't know how much, whatever, at least 20 million dollars or something like that. He's making a lot of money on this thing."

Kimmel then appeared to lightheartedly indicate that around 20 years ago, he'd advised Tyson to do a pay-per-view roast like a boxing match that'd make him a lot of money, perhaps around $20 million. Kimmel recalled that 'Iron Mike' asserted he didn't want to do it because bad things happen when he (Tyson) has considerable wealth.

Tyson responded by saying he "was a different person back then." The former undisputed heavyweight champion boxer jestingly implied he has no qualms about accepting lots of money now.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson purses and payouts: 'The Problem Child' and 'Iron Mike' en route to remunerative salary

Jake Paul was one of the highest-paid athletes of 2022, including his other business ventures, per Forbes. Also, per an MMA Junkie report, at a Cage Wars event in September 2024, the 58-year-old Tyson suggested he wasn't fighting the 27-year-old Paul for financial gain but to simply test himself.

Tyson even alluded to his cannabis organization, 'Tyson 2.0,' which reportedly accrued revenues of $150 million in 2023.

Presently, it's believed the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson showdown would have a 50-50 purse split. Marca recently estimated the fight purse as $80 million, with both fighters taking a 50-50 split from it. Tyson could bag $20 million at the very least, possibly even double that.

The estimates/reported figures haven't been officially confirmed. Furthermore, the consensus is that both boxers could potentially earn much more than their fight purse, courtesy of pay-per-view points and additional perks.
