Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson ticket prices drop to shocking levels amid reports of abysmally low sales

With the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match fast approaching, the debates and discussions concerning the fight have picked up steam. A hot-button topic is the event's ticket prices, which have reportedly plummeted amid worryingly low sales.

Many fans and critics have disapproved of the matchup, citing the combatants' 30-plus-year age gap as unfair toward the older Tyson. He turned 58 in June 2024, last competed in a professional boxing match in June 2005, and had his last exhibition boxing bout in Nov. 2020. Meanwhile, Paul is regarded as someone who's in his physical prime at 27.

Their fight is currently set to headline a boxing card at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, U.S.A., on Nov. 15, 2024. The venue can host around 80,000 fans. Generally, sports events are held at such mammoth stadiums only when the organizers foresee great ticket sales.

Nevertheless, the event appears to be struggling with ticket sales, per Boxing News. Currently, the lowest tickets are listed at $30, while the majority of them are priced at $37.

It's believed to be indicative of the organizers' aim to somehow achieve a sell-out. The ringside ticket prices are $50k each, whereas the VIP packages for two ringside 'apron seats' would cost $2 million.

Moreover, according to the latest ticket listings on SeatGeek via AT&T Stadium's official website, the lowest price per seat for the Paul-Tyson event is $37 right now.

Late last year, rumors were rife that social media influencer and boxer, Jake Paul, could fight legendary pugilist Mike Tyson at an event showcased on the Netflix platform. In March 2024, Netflix officially announced that it'll broadcast its first live boxing match, a fight between Paul and Tyson.

It was booked to headline a boxing card at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20, 2024. Nevertheless, Tyson withdrew in late May, owing to an ulcer flare-up.

Paul faced short-notice replacement opponent, ex-UFC star and BKFC staple 'Platinum' Mike Perry, and knocked the latter out on the card. Presently, the Paul-Tyson boxing match is booked to transpire at the same venue on Nov. 15, 2024.

Dana White lambasted Jake Paul for pursuing Mike Tyson fight

UFC CEO Dana White, who's long been at loggerheads with Jake Paul, has been among the most prominent voices who's lambasted the young YouTuber-cum-boxer for trying to fight Mike Tyson. On the Flagrant podcast earlier this year, White indicated that though Tyson's a boxing legend, he or any other 58-year-old shouldn't fight a 27-year-old.

White suggested that the only time Paul faced a full-time boxer around his age, experience, and size, he lost. Recalling his defeat against Tommy Fury, he jibed that Paul wouldn't go down that route again and would continue pursuing older fighters.

Tyson's longtime supporter, White highlighted that 'Iron Mike' is in his fifties and faces health issues. He's maintained that he won't discourage Tyson, but warned that professional boxing competition isn't advisable for someone nearing their sixties:

"If I brought up f**king Jake Paul, pretty much everybody in the room and the other room wants to see Jake Paul get knocked out ... When this fight happens, Tyson will be 58 f**king years."
