Jake Paul wants to face Nate Diaz next
Jake Paul and Nate Diaz have teased a potential boxing match for several months. With the latter now a free agent following his departure from the UFC, the YouTuber-turned-boxer believes that the fight will happen sooner rather than later.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the social media personality gave an update on where things stand in talks with the former UFC lightweight title challenger:
"I think they're ready. I'm getting through Sunday and we're going to line that one up, ASAP... I think that's next. I think that's what the fans want, and that's who I want. There's been a lot of talk back and forth, we've said our stuff, but it's time to get down to business."
As far as when the fight could take place and the details pertaining to the bout, Jake Paul added:
"I guess, probably like mid-year - maybe summer, sometime in summer... I want to do the one fight boxing, one fight MMA, but I'm not sure if Nate's team is fully aligned on that yet or I don't know if they realize how serious I am about that. I think they thought I was just doing it for hype, but I'm dead a**."
Despite having his contract with the UFC expire following UFC 279 in September 2022, Nate Diaz is yet to announce his next move. Paul will face Tommy Fury, the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, this weekend.

Jake Paul issues final warning to Tommy Fury ahead of boxing match
After over a year of teasing a potential matchup, Jake Paul is set to face Tommy Fury this weekend. The former YouTube star sent a final warning to his opponent ahead of the fight. In a video shared on Twitter, Paul stated:
"Tommy, I hope you've enjoyed these last few moments of your career. This is it, you're going to be retired from boxing after this, you're going to be disowned by your family, [and] you're gonna go back to your mother's maiden name. There’s nothing else that can save you, it's just me and you, mano a mano. Your brother's not in the ring anymore with you."
Paul claimed that he is looking to "decapitate" his opponent in the ring. Fury, on the other hand, has claimed that he will end the former YouTube star's boxing career.
