He unleashes a few body shots in close distance but Hackett moves out without taking any significant damage. A high-activity first round in the books.
Round 2
Hackett mixes well between the body and straight jabs up top. Hackett's rhythm and pace stirred problems for Dobson. The experienced boxer needs to mix things up as they meet hook-to-hook midway into the round. Dobson probably looking for the counter punch but Hackett has clearly been the busier fighter so far. A double jab to the body and head followed by a straight right by Hackett to wrap things in the second frame.
Round 3
More inside activity in the third round. Hackett doubling on the jab. This has been a high-action fight so far between two boxers who came to fight. A better round for Dobson but Hackett is still in the lead. Diminished activity in the round but another solid one for Hackett.
Round 4
Hackett brings the heat with the left hook and shots to the breadbasket. Both fighters mix up punches in the pocket but Hackett's punches have more sting and purpose behind them. The young boxer is thriving while asserting dominance and dictating the terms of the fight.
Round 5
Hackett's pace and pressure take a toll on Dobson. He's barely firing back while he's getting cornered against the ropes. The jab to the lead hook has been the best weapon for Hackett so far. He just misses with the uppercut after delivering a stinging shot to the body. Hackett wants his activity and pressure to mount and eventually put his opponent away.
Round 6
Dobson seems like a wounded warrior absorbing the mastery of the young boxer. A good one-two from Dobson but Hackett smothers it with ease. A huge swelling on the left side of Dobson's forehead points to the burden of collective damage. This has been a good competitive round though. Will we witness a resurgence from Dobsom? Only time will tell.
Round 7
Hackett targeting the lump now picking his shots wisely. Dobson's punches missing the steam that can threaten his rival. A good overhand right by Dobson as the pair opened up with attacks in the seventh round. Dobson demonstrates that he won't go down without a fight suggesting diminished activity from his opponent.
Round 8
Dobson needs to harness his experience to put the 21-year-old away. He probably won the last round and should keep up the momentum to take steam off Hackett. Good body shots from Dobson as Hackett is caught backtracking. The lack of experience competing in later rounds is probably playing a factor in Hackett's constrained engagement.
Round 9
Both fighters start the round with a fierce exchange in the heart of the ring. Dobson mixes things with body strikes but gets caught with a left hook. Dobson getting closer with the chopping right hands recognizing that his opponent's lack of experience is showing up. Dobson seems to have caught a second wind but will it be enough to edge past on the judges' scorecards?
Round 10
Hackett's corner urging him to let the hands go. Dobson's punches have more volume and purpose right now. His work rate takes a toll on Hackett. Dobson is landing better and heavier in the pocket but is unable to find his opponent's chin clean. What a fight this has been between two fighters who came to swing.
