Jamahal Hill praises Magomed Ankalaev for overcoming early adversity in his fight with Jan Blachowicz
Jamahal Hill recently gave his views on Magomed Ankalaev's performance at UFC 282.
Ankalaev took on Jan Blachowicz at the main event of UFC 282 with the light heavyweight title on the line. The fight ended in a split draw, with one judge giving the win to Ankalaev, another to Blachowicz, and the final judge declaring it a draw.
Blachowicz caused Ankalaev severe damage to his right leg in the early stages of the fight. Nevertheless, Ankalaev was able to come back in the third round and demonstrate his impressive wrestling abilities until the end of the match.
In a recent interview with James Lynch, Jamahal Hill expressed admiration for Magomed Ankalaev's performance at UFC 282. Hill praised Ankalaev for his resilience in the face of Blachowicz's challenges during the first two rounds, and declared that he deserved to win the light heavyweight title.
Giving his opinion on the Ankalaev vs Blachowicz fight, 'Sweet Dreams' said:
"I thought it was a good fight...My man's dealt with adversities. His legs was chopped down at the beginning of the fight and he battled back from it. You know what I'm saying? Like that was dope to me...I felt like he [Jan Blachowicz] had an opportunity to win but I really think that Ankalaev is just really talented...I thought he did enough to win. I thought he did enough to get the belt."

Jamahal Hill is all set to challenge Glover Teixeira for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 283. The event is scheduled for January 21 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro.
Jamahal Hill discusses his preparation for his upcoming title fight
Jamahal Hill has been on a roll lately, winning his last three bouts, two of which were knockouts in the opening round. His most recent success was a technical knockout against Thiago Santos. To cap off his impressive streak, he has been granted a title opportunity against Glover Teixeira for the vacant light heavyweight championship.
In an interview with John Morgan of MMA Underground, 'Sweet Dreams' discussed his training for the upcoming UFC 283 bout:
"You need to be ready physically, mentally, and I gotta be sharp. I gotta be at the top of my game like I never been. Yeah, it's gonna take everything. It's gonna take everything to come in and beat him...I don't care about his age or none of that he's already shown what that means, absolutely nothing. And he's game, bro, he's a champion - a true champion. So I gotta go and do what I gotta do."
