Jamahal Hill wants to fight Jiri Prochazka next, willing to move on after revealed deadline
Jamahal Hill recently stated that he wants to face Jiri Prochazka for his first title defense and is willing to wait till the summer for the Czech fighter to recover from his shoulder injury before moving on to another opponent. Hill recently defeated Glover Teixeira to become the light heavyweight champion at UFC 283.
Jamahal Hill successfully capitalized on his title shot due to 'Denisa' relinquishing the UFC light heavyweight title after he suffered a brutal shoulder injury. This forced Prochazka to drop out of a planned rematch with Glover Teixeira that was originally scheduled to take place this past December.
Subsequently, an inconclusive title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev resulted in Jamahal Hill being booked against Teixeira for UFC 283.
In a recent interview with MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn, Hill was asked who he wants as his first challenger, to which 'Sweet Dreams' replied:
"I'm hoping that it's him [Jiri Prochazka]. Cause' I've wanted the Jiri fight for a long time. I know that's a big fight and I think the magnitude of that fight would be great. And I think I win. I think I'm better than Jiri everywhere. I'm willing to wait till July-August, past that, I think it's next man up.

Jiri Prochazka unimpressed with Jamahal Hill's performance at UFC 283
Jiri Prochazka recently shared his thoughts on Jamahal Hill becoming the new light heavyweight champion, and the former 205-lbs champion doesn't seem too impressed with the punching power of Hill.
Jamahal Hill looked sharp and prepared as he dominated Glover Teixeira through all five rounds on his way to securing 50-44 scorecards across the board to claim the light heavyweight title.
However, in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Jiri Prochazka was asked if there was anything about Jamahal Hill's performance that stood out. The Czech native replied:
"From him, nothing... He spoke about his power. His power of punches and all these things... So Glover showed everybody that Jamahal he doesn't have so big power in the punches... But more than Jamahal Hill, Glover surprised me because it looked like it was not his night."
