Jared Cannonier discloses which division he feels at his best physically: "I'm just more capable"

Jared Cannonier recently opened up about his MMA career, which has seen him compete in three divisions during his stint with the UFC. He disclosed which division he truly feels at his best physically and explained how he can perform well at the weight.

'The Killa Gorilla' has competed at heavyweight, light heavyweight and middleweight. He joined the promotion as a heavyweight but moved down to 205 pounds after a 1-1 start to his tenure. Cannonier's stint at light heavyweight lasted longer at five fights, but once again decided to move down another division after going 2-3, which has since been a permanent move.

During his appearance on Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson's JAXXON PODCAST, 'The Killa Gorilla' disclosed that he believes he is at his best when competing at middleweight. Although it has forced him to cut weight, Cannonier mentioned that there are more opportunities for him to achieve success at 185 pounds:

"I would say middleweight [is my favorite weight to fight at in the UFC] because I feel, for myself, I'm just more capable at this weight class. And I guess me being in middleweight is just a part of my journey. The knowledge that I've learned, the experience that I've acquired, being in the sport, just transformed who I am."

In addition to disclosing which division he prefers competing in terms of how his body feels, Jared Cannonier also opened up about being on a short list to have earned a knockout win in three different weight classes in the UFC.

During the aforementioned appearance, Cannonier credited his genetics along with his training regimen for being able to carry over his power from heavyweight down to middleweight:

"I would say a lot of [the power comes] from genetics. I have a family full of athletes. My cousin, who was in the NFL, my brothers and cousins played football throughout their early years. As well as the program that we have at the Lab. The training that I get there, the knowledge that I've acquired from my coaches, my strength and conditioning coaches, my physical therapist as well."
