Jarred Brooks believes he could showcase complete arsenal against ‘a perfect dance partner’ like Demetrious Johnson

Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks thinks he has a solid set of tools that could take on anybody in the game, including legend and flyweight king Demetrious Johnson

'The Monkey God' shared this in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA ahead of his scheduled return next month at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs Balart, where he will vie for the interim strawweight championship belt.

Jarred Brooks shared that while his skillset is by no means perfect, he has, however, made significant strides in developing his game that against the right opponent in the mold of 'Mighty Mouse' he will be able to fully showcase his full arsenal.

The 31-year-old Indiana, U.S.A. native said:

"Man, I'm anyone's perfect dance partner, really. So I do have a lot of imperfected moves, but at the same time I have a lot of perfected moves on the feet and the ground. And that's what makes me a complete mixed martial artist. Not just a striker, a wrestler or a jiu-jitsu athlete, or so on. So, hence, if I go against a perfect dance partner like Demetrious Johnson, I can show you guys the mixed martial artist that I am."

A full arsenal is what Jarred Brooks is looking to showcase when he battles Cuban dynamo Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 on Aug. 2 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event serves as the main bout, which will be available live and free to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Jarred Brooks looks to redeem himself at ONE Fight Night 24

American fighter Jarred Brooks is out to redeem himself at ONE Fight Night 24 on Prime Video on Aug. 2 in Thailand after he lost the ONE strawweight MMA world title unceremoniously in his last fight by disqualification.

The Mash Fight Team affiliate will vie for the interim strawweight belt at ONE Fight Night 24 against Cuban Gustavo Balart at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Brooks lost the strawweight gold to Filipino Joshua Pacio in their title rematch in March at ONE 166: Qatar by disqualification after he threw an illegal spike in the opening round that had 'The Passion' hitting the canvas head first.

The move instantly earned 'The Monkey God' a DQ and saw him lose the belt to Pacio, from whom he seized the title in December 2022.

Meanwhile, out to frustrate Jarred Brooks at ONE Fight Night 24 is Balart, who is packing a lot of momentum, winning four straight heading into the contest.
