Jarred Brooks on intense training camp: “I'm getting a thousand kicks thrown at me at a million miles an hour”
Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked ONE strawweight MMA contender 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks of the United States promises to be in the best shape of his life when he steps back into the ONE Championship ring next week.
The 31-year-old Mash Fight Team representative says he has enlisted a group of killers who are sharpening him like a war blade in preparation for his upcoming world title opportunity, and Brooks says he has all the bases covered.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Brooks gave props to his team for putting him through the wringer in training camp.
'The Monkey God' said:
"I have coaches that work with Dan Henderson, Sam Alvey, James Lee has worked with every great martial artist that's ever came out of Michigan. I got Justin Scoggins. He's a mini Stephen Thompson, so I'm getting a thousand kicks thrown at me at a million miles an hour. We got some up-and-comers too."
After losing strawweight gold by decision earlier this year in Qatar, Brooks is ready to seize the moment and capture ONE Championship gold once again.
