Jarred Brooks says daughter Naomi motivated him to victory at ONE Fight Night 24: “She is the most amazing thing in the world”

Newly crowned ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks of the United States put together one his most impressive performances to date in ONE Championship.

The 31-year-old Roots Combat Club representative turned in a masterful showing, defeating former Cuban Olympic wrestler and no.3-ranked contender 'El Gladiador' Gustavo Balart by first-round rear-naked choke at ONE Fight Night 24 on Prime Video last weekend.

Brooks looked inspired in his performance, and the American star says it's all because of his new motivation in life—his daughter Naomi Brooks.

Speaking to the media at the official ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart post-fight interviews, Brooks talked about his daughter and how being a father has changed him.

'The Monkey God' said:

"It's a privilege to be a father to my daughter. She is the most amazing thing in the world. I can't really even explain it. I wake up in the morning and the first thing that I see is just a big, goofy smile."

Indeed, Brooks looked as formidable as ever in his one-round destruction of Balart, and it's all because he is fighting for something much greater than himself now.

ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart took place live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, August 3rd. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action via replay on-demand on Amazon Prime Video.
