Jarred Brooks says Jeremy Miado and Lito Adiwang should try their hands at Muay Thai next: “Both really good strikers”
Jarred Brooks named two MMA fighters he'd like to see fight in Muay Thai.
Over the last month, former ONE flyweight MMA world champion John Lineker has fought and won twice in Muay Thai. The hard-hitting Brazilian has made a massive statement in those appearances, as he secured knockout wins against Asa Ten Pow (second round) and Alexey Balyko (first round).
Lineker's success has opened up the imagination of fans and fighters about who else should transition to Muay Thai. During an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks had this to say about two fighters who should test themselves in "The Art of Eight Limbs":
"Other athletes who should do the same transition as Lineker I think is Jeremy Miado, he probably needs to do the same. And maybe even Lito Adiwang. Both really good strikers."
Jeremy Miado and Lito Adiwang have separated themselves as two of the most entertaining fighters in the ONE strawweight MMA division. Firstly, Miado has acquired all his promotional wins by KO/TKO.
Meanwhile, Adiwang holds a 10-3 record in ONE Championship, including five KO/TKOs. Only time will tell if either 'The Jaguar' or 'Thunder Kid' decide to temporarily leave MMA and showcase their striking in Muay Thai.
How would Jarred Brooks fare in Muay Thai?
Jarred Brooks made his ONE Championship debut in November 2021, defeating Lito Adiwang by second-round submission. Since then, the American superstar has utilized his grappling-heavy skillset to build a 5-1 promotional record, including separate wins for the undisputed and interim strawweight MMA world titles.
Brooks has continued evolving his striking to prepare for the top strawweight contenders. Although he's not considered a striker, 'The Monkey God' can't be overlooked in Muay Thai, as his championship mindset could lead to surprising results with a few years of specialized training.
With that said, Brooks is focused on regaining the undisputed strawweight MMA throne. The reigning interim title holder lost his strap to Joshua Pacio earlier this year before bouncing back against Gustavo Balart. He now looks to face Pacio in a trilogy bout to upgrade his interim hardware.
