"Jesus loves you Conor" - Jon Jones reacts to 'The Notorious' thanking the heavens during a yacht ride

Jon Jones offered positive sentiments toward Conor McGregor on social media. The former double champion recently posted a video to Instagram, aboard a yacht with his eyes closed, praying to the sky, and then outstretching his arms to soak in the sun.

McGregor succinctly captioned the post with a simple prayer hands emoji. Many in the combat sports world, both fans and fighters alike, took to the comment section to have their say.

One of these individuals who commented on the post was another double champ in the UFC and the current heavyweight champion of the promotion. Jones wrote:

"Love to see it, Jesus loves you Conor."

Jon Jones and Conor McGregor's potential octagon returns

Jon Jones and Conor McGregor have been outside of action for meaningful periods after sustaining injuries. It seems like both fighters are chomping at the bit though and rumblings have indicated that both could potentially compete once again with some positing that it could happen before the calendar year ends.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, many have been theorizing that Jones would return to defend his heavyweight belt against former multi-time divisional kingpin Stipe Miocic.

Dana White has recently spoken about these Jones rumors and does have a targeted intent for 'Bones' to headline a UFC pay-per-view in the last quarter of 2024, on a card that the UFC figurehead stated is still being built. Although not locked in as mentioned, White has expressed desires to rebook the Jones versus Miocic fight after it fell out in November of last year due to the former getting injured.

As for McGregor, the Irish superstar was supposed to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 and seems hungry for a rescheduling. The bout which was scrapped due to McGregor sustaining a toe injury is something that the former featherweight and lightweight champion in the organization wants for December.

White has stated that the blockbuster mixed martial arts star will in all likelihood not return to the cage this year despite McGregor seeming keen on it. The UFC CEO has seemed to indicate that 2025 seems more likely for a McGregor return who has not fought since a serious 2021 leg break transpired in his rubber match against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
