Jihin Radzuan says Stamp ‘knows everything’ about Denice Zamboanga’s skill set: “They used to be training partners”
Malaysian fighter Jihin Radzuan believes that Stamp Fairtex has Denice Zamboanga figured out ahead of their scheduled title clash later this year.
The Thai superstar will defend her ONE atomweight MMA world title against Filipino challenger Zamboanga at ONE 167 on Prime Video on June 7 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
It will be the Stamp's first title defence of the strap she claimed back in September with a third-round TKO victory over veteran South Korean fighter Ham Seo Hee for the then-vacant championship belt.
While she recognizes that Zamboanga has the potential to pose problems, Radzuan said the divisional queen should be up for the challenges and would come up with the right game plan for it since she knows 'The Menace' too well as they were teammates in the past at Fairtex Gym in Pattaya.
'Shadow Cat,' who is currently one the reigning atomweight champion's sparring partners, shared with Sportskeeda MMA:
"They used to be training partners. So I believe Stamp will have learned or knows everything about Denice's strengths and weaknesses."
ONE 167 will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans via Amazon Prime Video.
Jihin Radzuan helping Stamp for title showdown against Zamboanga at ONE 167
Jihin Radzuan is part of the team helping the ONE atomwweight MMA world champion prepare for her scheduled title showdown against challenger Denice Zamboanga at ONE 167 on June 7 in Bangkok, Thailand.
In particular, she helps in trying to emulate Zamboanga's style, so the reigning champion will get a better feel of what to expect come fight night.
Radzuan underscored that she and 'The Menace' have practically the same fighting style and that gave Stamp a great degree of insight.
She told Sportskeeda MMA in an interview:
"Yeah, I guess. That's what I've been up to. I have more or less a very similar style to Denice. So, yeah. I've been helping her get ready by trying to fight or spar as much as her next opponent."
Radzuan is currently the No.5 contender in the ONE women's atomweight MMA division and has fought both superstars headlining ONE 167 in the past.
