Joe Rogan accuses legendary comedian Robin Williams of plagiarizing jokes from other comics: "Killing was more important"
Joe Rogan recently leveled allegations against Robin Williams, accusing the legendary comedian of plagiarizing jokes from other comics. The veteran UFC commentator showed no leniency towards Williams, charging him with material theft during an episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, with fellow comedian Harland Williams.
Rogan acknowledged his admiration for the late actor but expressed his belief that Williams intentionally lifted jokes from other comedians:
"I think [Robin] wanted to kill more than he wanted to be ethical at any cost. Part of that manic sort of style is this constant need to have a bit about anything that you’re talking about ever. Killing was more important; filling that hole inside of him was more important than anything. So he would just do other people’s stuff."
The 56-year-old podcast host further noted that comedians like Sam Kinison had previously criticized Williams for appropriating their jokes:
"Kinison got mad at him. If you ask any of those comics from back then, there are always instances of Robin going on a talk show and doing your bit."

This isn't the first time someone has accused the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' actor of incorporating material from other comedians into his own routines. Seasoned comic Lewis Black has publicly stated that Williams had gained a reputation for a questionable comedy practice of repeating other people’s jokes during performances.
When Joe Rogan became emotional recalling his first encounter with Robin Williams
During an episode of his podcast in May 2021, Joe Rogan reminisced about the first time he stumbled upon Robin Williams at one of his improv shows. Initially unaware of the legendary actor's identity, it took him a few minutes to realize who he was.
Rogan fought back tears as he recalled how Williams waited in line to meet him and commend his work:
"I met him after one of my shows; I didn’t know I was talking to him until a couple of minutes into the conversation. He had a crazy big white beard, and he waited in line with everybody else to meet me, and I was talking to him, and he was telling, 'Oh, I love this bit, I love that, and I loved how you put that together.' I was like, 'Oh, thanks, man, I appreciate it.' Then I'm like, holy sh*t, this is Robin Williams."
