Joe Rogan addresses terrifying possibilities of brain emulation: "What kind of horrific existence is that?"
Joe Rogan recently discussed the potential technological advancements of the future, specifically noting that humans may eventually be able to upload their brains to a computer.
On episode #2186 of the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), the UFC color commentator welcomed fellow stand-up comedian Ari Matti to his show. The pair discussed a host of topics, including what the world could look like in the near future if scientists successfully achieve their goals.
Rogan was both fascinated and concerned with the idea of brain emulation, a technology that aims to recreate a human brain that can simulate real functions and behavior on a computer. He then stated, however, that the idea of doing so could lead to a "horrific existence" for those willing to do it.
"Imagine we get to a point where you can download your brain into a computer. You would cease to exist right here, right now. You would just have to assume whatever consciousness is in your head is your life...What makes you, you? What if they take that sh*t out and put it in a machine? What kind of horrific existence is that? You're dreaming into the abyss. Unattached from a body but trapped. Trapped in newly created computer dimension. Trapped in metal box."

Joe Rogan praises Adam Sandler for his movies that were scored low by critics
Joe Rogan recently welcomed Hollywood royalty to his podcast as Adam Sandler sat down in his studio for episode #2187 of the JRE.
Sandler, best known for his comedy movies, is one of the highest-paid actors working today. While fans often love his work, some of his films, such as 'Happy Gilmore' and 'Don't Mess with the Zohan,' were universally panned by critics.
Rogan, however, doesn't believe the critics mean anything in regard to Sandler's movies and stated that all that matters is that his fans enjoy his work.
"It's so funny because your films get loved by the public and hated by critics. It's so hilarious. Like, whatever the Rotten Tomatoes critics' score is, for your films, it means zero. Nothing. It's only the audience is what counts. Coz your films are all so fun and so silly and in my opinion, so underappreciated."
