Joe Rogan can't believe how quickly public opinion turned against Donald Trump as soon as he became U.S. president: "They used to love him"
In episode #2188 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan and fellow comedian Adam Ray expressed astonishment over the stark difference in public opinion on former U.S. president Donald Trump before and after his presidency. The pair reacted to a pre-presidential clip of Trump on 'The View.'
For context, 'The View' has been openly critical of Trump in recent years. For this reason, both Rogan and Ray were stunned when the aforementioned old clip of Trump saw him receive a warm reception from the talk show's hosts as well as its audience.
"So, let's just pause and think. Let's just grasp the 180 that the media has taken on him since he decided to be president. When you see the machine go after a guy. We've never seen the machine go after someone as bold-faced. You know, the prosecutions, the Russiagate stuff on television every night. All of it. And then to see, just a few years ago, they loved him."
Check out Joe Rogan's comments about Donald Trump's public reception (23:51):
Rogan frequently offers his thoughts on American politics, and this is no different. He is also a staunch critic of what he believes to be biased news coverage, taking specific umbrage at CNN's reporting of his actions. Curiously, Rogan himself appears to have mixed feelings about Trump.
Despite the latter's best efforts, he has failed to secure a sitdown on Rogan's podcast. The UFC color commentator revealed that he has turned Trump down several times, claiming that he does not want to assist anyone engaged in a presidential race.
Joe Rogan and Donald Trump aren't on the best terms
Joe Rogan's recent praise of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has left many wondering if he was endorsing the latter as an independent candidate in the 2024 American presidential race. Among those who assumed as much was Donald Trump, who was more than outraged.
He took to Truth Social to express his glee over the possibility of Rogan being booed at the next UFC pay-per-view he will commentate on. After facing backlash from not just Trump but several right-wing camps, Rogan clarified his prior statement, claiming that he hadn't officially endorsed Kennedy.
Instead, he was merely praising Kennedy's character.
