Joe Rogan claims his ex-girlfriend lost her job with the US government owing to her curiosity about aliens
Joe Rogan's fascination with extraterrestrial subjects is well-advertised. Over the years, he has engaged in many conversations with podcast guests on the topic and hosted those with experiences or expertise in alien encounters.
In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with Shawn Ryan, a former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor, he recounted how his ex-girlfriend’s curiosity about "little green men" cost her a government job in the early 90s.
According to Rogan, she typed "Little Green Men" into a search function in a government database seemingly from a sense of wonder. The UFC color commentator claimed on the Joe Rogan podcast that her computer was immediately shut down, and soon after, she was questioned by authorities regarding the search.
This incident eventually led to her being either fired or reassigned to a different role, losing her security clearance. Speaking about the incident, Rogan said:
"One of her [Rogan's ex-girlfriend] job was making sure that the information that the navy had was available to the armies... She had some sort of top clearance [access to the databases] and one day, she wrote 'little green men' in the search function, and her computer got shut down, and then people visited her. They asked her, 'What are you doing, like why did you look this up?'"
Rogan added:
"I think she wound up either getting fired or transferred to some other position or lost whatever clearance that she had. When I was young I was like aliens are real. But as an older man now looking back on her, I go, 'well maybe what she was doing was inappropriate for her job.'"

Joe Rogan warns of the threat if Kamala Harris becomes the United States president
Popular podcaster Joe Rogan recently expressed concerns about the future of free speech if current Vice President Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election.
Rogan, in the past, has had his fair share of struggles with dissenting voices and critics striving to suppress him. Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience with guest Shawn Ryan, Rogan suggested that censorship could worsen under a Harris administration. He said:
"I don’t think it turns around if Kamala Harris gets into office. I think they clamp down more. She openly discussed the need for the same rules to apply to Facebook and Twitter and the possibility that Elon Musk could lose his privileges.
"There are so many wild things that they are saying. Tim Walz said that the First Amendment doesn't apply to misinformation or hate speech. Okay, well, it certainly does."
