Joe Rogan details how playing pool on amphetamines for days affected life of former player
Joe Rogan discusses a wide variety of topics on his immensely popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The UFC commentator recently hosted professional pool player Fedor Gorst, on episode #1917, where they discussed the dark side of the sport.
Gorst first discussed the usage of drugs in the sport, stating:
"[Adderall] is a big one. I'm sure people play on cocaine... They're taking breaks. One time I've seen a guy who was using cocaine instead of the powder for his cue. That's an expensive powder right there, yeah... He was f**ked up, completely... He was playing decent. I mean, he's a decent player, I don't know his name, but he was just an action junkie."
Rogan detailed learning about the heavy usage of amphetamines in the sport, stating:
"Like I said about that book, Buddy Hall, I think it's 'From Rags to Rifleman', is the name of the book... They all played on amphetamines, and they would all play for days and days and days, but it f**ked a lot of people's lives up because they all got addicted to that stuff."
Gorst detailed how there are matches that can last over ten hours, noting that he doesn't use drugs, but sometimes has to drink soda to maintain his energy. While pool is a common game that is played all over the world, it will likely serve as a surprise to most that there is plenty of drug usage at the professional level.

Joe Rogan labels Jon Jones as the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time
It is impossible to discuss the greatest mixed martial artists of all-time without mentioning Jon Jones. UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently shared that he believes the long-time light heavyweight champion is the greatest of all-time. Speaking with guest Will Harris on episode #130 of the JRE MMA Show, Rogan stated:
"When you open up a fight, when you're the youngest ever guy fighting for the title, and you open up a fight with Shogun with a flying knee. That's a wild man. He's a wild man... And that's the type of guy that becomes the greatest of all time. You don't get to be the greatest of all time just being a normal person... [He's] still the greatest motherf**ker of all time."
Jones has a professional mixed martial arts record of 26-1 (1), however, he has never been defeated by an opponent. His only career loss came as the result of a questionable disqualification in a fight that he was dominating and many felt should have been stopped. The no contest was the result of a failed drug test. Jones is reportedly targeting a return to the octagon at UFC 285 after a three-year hiatus from the sport.
