Joe Rogan and Donald Trump delve into 'systematic and coordinated' attacks on Ex-POTUS: "Nobody has ever been treated that way"
Former US president Donald Trump's historic appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience is increasingly becoming one of the most viewed videos across all platforms. This is for a good reason, as Joe Rogan's smash-hit podcast is the most viewed in the world, and, the fact that Trump is one of the most divisive people in history.
This divisiveness was the first topic between Rogan and Trump, as the podcast host asked the US presidential candidate what it was like for him to win the election for the first time despite his sizable number of detractors. Rogan also mentioned an obvious "systematic" and "coordinated" attack on Trump after it was clear he had a good chance of winning the presidency.
Trump recalled that it was like living multiple lives, with him juggling his business ventures, hosting the hit TV show 'The Apprentice', and flirting with the idea of running for US president. Rogan then recalled how many of Trump's allies and supporters apparently turned on him the moment he became president.
Despite all the press and media attacks on his first few days as president, Donald Trump was just focused on two things (13:15):
"I had two things that I really focused on, governing the country and survival. Because from the moment I won, [even] before I got to office, all of a sudden, they came down [on me]. Nobody has ever been treated that way. And you see that. You see in the Washington Post very early on they said, 'Well now the impeachment stuff starts', and it did...So I had the survival and run the nation."

Donald Trump explains to Joe Rogan why he was never bothered by the media targeting him: "I just do what's right"
Further into the episode, the two spoke about how dangerous it is as a job to be the President of the United States. Joe Rogan mentioned that there are already assassination attempts on Donald Trump and we haven't even reached the election day yet.
On the dangers he's faced and the media's affinity for targeting him during his presidency, Trump said (0:58):
"Look, I'm for having countries pay us billions and billions and trillions even of dollars. I took in hundreds of billions of dollars from China. Nobody took in 10 cents. Not one other president. I do things that don't necessarily make me so popular. I just do what's right."
Trump then explained that his decisions were all made with the belief that they were the right things to do - even if they didn't make him popular to the media and to other countries. He even compared being president to being a bull-fighter - it's just an inherenty dangerous job.
