Joe Rogan explains how censorship has a deeper effect on truth than one may understand
Joe Rogan never shies away from discussing topics that may be deemed controversial. The UFC commentator shared his thoughts on the effects of censorship during episode #1912 of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, citing the Hunter Biden laptop controversy as an example.
Speaking to guest Steve Rinella, Rogan stated:
"This is what people don't understand when they try to impose censorship. It goes all the way through. You will eventually get to a point where it's only state sanctioned information that's allowed to be distributed if you allow censorship because they've already shown that the government is deeply embedded in social media."
Rogan continued:
"This is one of the things that's most disturbing about these revelations about whether it's the FBI or whatever intelligence agencies were behind censoring certain people off of Twitter or removing certain people off of Twitter or removing certain narratives and certain stories, like the Hunter Biden laptop story."
The UFC commentator concluded by adding:
"If you support that because it fits with your ideology, ultimately, you support government control over a narrative and that is going to go the other way if a Republican gets in office then you're going to deal with a similar problem... The truth dies with censorship."
It was recently revealed that Twitter may have worked to censor the story regarding Hunter Biden's laptop. While it is impossible to know how this may have affected the 2020 presidential election, Rogan, a long-time advocate of free speech, makes a valid point that public discourse should not be controlled or dictated.

Joe Rogan previously criticized Joe Biden for his speaking mannerisms
Joe Rogan has been vocal about United States President Joe Biden. Leading up to the 2020 presidential election, the UFC commentator criticized the candidate's speaking mannerisms, while questioning if he would be fit for office.
Speaking to guest Joey Diaz on episode #1448 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan stated:
"I'm looking at this like this is a medical issue. That's not a normal way to communicate, unless he's high as f**k because if I was high, I'd be like, 'I don't know what I just said to this lady.' He could be in the middle of one of those interviews blasted on edibles going, 'What are we even talking about?' I don't think that's what it is, I think he's very old."
Biden's speaking abilities have often been criticized since he announced that he was running for office, leading many to speculate that he may be battling dementia.
At 80 years old, he is the oldest sitting president in United States history.
